Tengzhou

Tengzhou is a county-level city of Zaozhuang, Shandong province of the People's Republic of China.

Tengzhou is the legendary birthplace of Micius and Lu Ban . It served as the capital of the State of Teng during the Spring and Autumn Period.

State of Teng was also called "Good State". According to Mencius, Mencius ever addressed State of Teng, and the duke T'eng Weng Kung consulted him for the government of the kingdom. Menicus praised the State of Teng as a "Good State".

The Mayor of Tengzhou is Du Yongguang. The Secretary of CPC Tengzhou Committee is Niu Qizhong.

Tashan

Tai'an

Tai'an is a prefecture-level city in western Shandong , People's Republic of China. Centered around Mount Tai, the city borders the provincial capital of Jinan to the north, Laiwu to the northeast, Zibo to the east, Linyi to the southeast, Liaocheng to the extreme west and Jining to the south. To the west Tai'an is separated from the province of Henan by the Yellow River.

History



In the neolithic, the area of present day Tai'an was home to the Dawenkou culture. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the region belonged to the states of and . The site of major historical and cultural significance in the area is Mount Tai.

Tai'an is located on the Jing-Hu Railway Line, which connects Beijing to Shanghai, as well as on the Jing-Hu Expressway and on the Tai-Lai Expressway . The nearest major airport is Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, about 120 kilometers to the north.

Shouguang

Shouguang is a relatively large city located in Shandong Province. Nearly one million people reside within the municipality and its surrounding towns and villages.

The city is located approximately thirty minutes east of Zibo, thirty to forty minutes west of downtown Weifang, three hours west of Qingdao and one and a half an hour east of Jinan. From Shouguang, and driving at legal highway speeds, one could reach Beijing in approximately seven hours.

Shouguang is flourishing and boasts a modern downtown area and a new six lane highway leading from the Jiqing Expressway into the heart of the city. The local government is currently focused on developing the city's service, industry and technology sectors as well as maintaining Shouguang's reputation as China's "Home of Vegetables" .

The city hosts a vegetable fair every year around May 1st, and artists use fruits, nuts, vegetables, flowers and potted plants to create numerous sculptures and murals. The artwork is displayed at the city's convention center and ten large plant exhibition halls. Chinese President Hu Jintao visited the city as well as the adjacent village of San Yuan Wang in 2005 and praised the farmers for the development of their new cultivation techniques. The visit and the efforts of the village head and farmers were featured on national news programs. San Yuan Wang has since erected a large sign displaying Hu and other visiting dignitaries just inside its main village gate in order to celebrate the event.

Due to the city's large year-round harvests, many international trading and trucking companies have opened operations in Shouguang. The city has a vegetable auction house, which provides residents knowledgeable of harvest amounts with substantial extra income through the rapid buying and selling of crops . Buying and selling of crops can be conducted online as well as at the auction house.

Rushan

Rushan is a county-level city in Weihai prefecture-level city, Shandong province, in eastern . Rushan borders Yantai to the north and looks out to the Yellow Sea to the south. It derives its name from a Breast-like Mount on the sea shore.

History


The city has a long history. The first county was founded in 206 B.C. and named as Yuli.

History


According to historical records, the Emperor Qinshihuang had visited Rongcheng twice, building bridges and temples. In 1735 during the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Yongzheng gave Rongcheng its present name.

Penglai City

Penglai City , is a port, a town and an administrative subdivision of Yantai City, Shandong Province, China. The port was formerly called Teng-chou .

Penglai is the northernmost part of mainland Yantai and in central Yantai. Except for the Bohai Sea to the north, Penglai is entirely surrounded by Yantai: west of Fushan District, east of Longkou City, north of Qixia City. Its limits in geographic coordinates are 120°35'-121°09' E, 37°25'-37°50' N.

Penglai was the first port on the Shandong peninsula that was opened to foreigners in the 1800s, so it was the first place were established. Subsequently, it was overshadowed by the port of Yantai , 55 miles to the west. Its scenery has earned the city fame as the fabled landing spot on Earth for the Eight Immortals. The city is also famous for its mirages out at sea, which are frequent during May and June.

374,400 Penglai citizens are in the agricultural industry, the remaining 75,600 are in various other sectors.

Zhangqiu

Zhangqiu City is a division of Jinan sub-provincial city, Shandong Province, People's Republic of China.

Laiyang

Laiyang City is a subsection of Yantai City, Shandong Province, China, about the middle of the eastern peninsula. It is surrounded by well-kept walls of great antiquity, and its main streets are spanned by large pailous or monumental arches, some dating from the time of the emperor of the Yuan dynasty .

Rizhao

Wendeng is a county-level city in Weihai prefecture-level city, Shandong province, in eastern . Wendeng is strong at autopart industry.

Zhucheng

Zhucheng is a city of 1.06 million inhabitants located in the Chinese province of Shandong (山东). It belongs to the Weifang prefecture.

Originally known as Langya , it was from here that Emperor Qin Shi Huang sent Xu Fu to sail to Japan in 210 BC, in pursuit of the elixir of youth.

It was also the birthplace of Mao Ze Dong's last wife and leader of the Gang of Four, Jiang Qing.

Zhaoyuan City

Zhaoyuan is a city of Yantai, Shandong province. It is on seashore of Bohai Sea. Zhaoyuan is well known for its abundant gold deposit and production. In 2002 Zhaoyuan was named "China's Gold City" by China's gold association.
